Will Antonio Cromartie sign with the Oakland Raiders?

With the NFL lockout quickly coming to an end, the free agent frenzy is about to begin in the NFL with a lot of big-name players potentially changing teams before next season. The biggest name and most sought after free agent once the lockout is over is lockdown cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha of the Oakland Raiders.

Even though Asomugha still has a lot of to offer and is considered to be one of the top players at his position in the NFL, the Raiders are ready to move on as they don’t have the money to re-sign the superstar. With that being said, Asomugha will almost certainly be headed elsewhere and there are already plenty of teams around the league that are very interested in signing the big-name free agent.

Now that the Oakland Raiders will have a pretty big void in their secondary without Nnamdi Asomugha, the AFC West heavyweights will be looking for a replacement and one of the best options to replace the perennial Pro Bowler is Antonio Cromartie of the New York Jets.

At this point in time, the New York Jets are ready to part ways with two of their big-name free agents and maybe even three of them. With wide receivers Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes on the open market and corner Antonio Cromartie, Rex Ryan and company will have a lot of decisions to make and letting Cromartie go seems like a move they would be content with as they could go after Asomugha.

The Raiders acquiring Cromartie might be a stretch as he will almost certainly want more money than Oakland can afford, but he will be viable option for this AFC team on the rise.
