WINSLOW RUNNING HIS MOUTH AGAIN
He’s a soldier. He’s not good at wheelies. And he is outspoken. I understand wanting to win. I also understand where humility needs to be considered. I don’t think Kellen Winslow has done that. Not after his recent comments.
He should probably just be happy he wasn’t shown the door after violating his contract. He should probably happy he can still play the game. But he’s a young dude. A sample of his latest protestations:
“Some of the coaches might be holding us back a little bit,” Winslow said. “We have nothing to lose. I don’t mean to try and go behind their backs or whatever, but we’re 0-2, we have nothing to lose, let’s go.”"The Giants run the same system as we do,” Winslow said. “The Cowboys run the same system as we do, (Jason) Witten and (Jeremy) Shockey are on the field on third down, and I just don’t understand why I’m not on the field sometimes. … It’s very frustrating. We’re losing and I’m not on the field. I just don’t get it.”
Winslow said he spoke with Crennel about not being used more.
“He said he’ll take care of it,” Winslow said, “so I’m pretty sure it’s going to be taken care of.”
Winslow was asked if he expected his role will change.
“Yeah,” he said. “It has to, if we want to win. We need our playmakers on the field and I’m just a playmaker. I just want to make plays and win.”
Winslow played in his 4th career game this week.
